On May 8, 1972, Father Don Stefano Gobbi was praying in the Chapel of the Apparitions at Fatima for some priests who had not only given up their vocations, but were attempting to form themselves into an association against the authority of the Catholic Church. During his prayer time, Father Gobbi experienced an “interior force” telling him that “Our Lady” wanted to make use of these priests if only they would consecrate themselves into her Immaculate Heart. Not long afterward, the Marian Movement of Priests was born.1
Father Gobbi began this mission by recording some “limpid and strong thoughts which sprang up in his soul.” He gathered them into a book entitled, To the Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons. Upon release of this publication, Father Gobbi experienced a great deal of opposition because the messages lacked ecclesiastical approval and were presented as locutions given directly to him from the Blessed Mother. Many of the group’s members feared that the messages would face many obstacles due to the large number of doubtful, even pathological apparitions that were occurring throughout the world. Even though the members considered the content “problematic” for many reasons, the book was gradually accepted by an ever-increasing number of priests.2
On March 25, 1984, the spiritual entity that had been delivering the messages to Father Gobbi reinstated a reoccurring request by saying, “I renew my request that all be consecrated to my Immaculate Heart. I ask this consecration from all the bishops, from all the priests, from all religious, and from all the faithful. This is the hour in which the whole Church must assemble in the secure refuge of my Immaculate Heart.”3
The entity making the request described the effects of the consecration by saying, “When I ask you for the consecration to my Immaculate Heart, it is to make you understand that you must completely entrust yourselves to me, in a total and everlasting way, that I may dispose of you according to the will of God. You must entrust yourselves in a manner that is complete, giving me everything; you should not give me one thing and hold on to another, for yourselves; you should truly be wholly mine.”4
In an attempt to comply with this request, the Marian Movement of Priests set up a website offering different types of consecration vows. There are consecration vows for the clergy to an entity known as the “Virgin of Fatima, Mother of Mercy, Queen of Heaven and Earth, Refuge of Sinners.” There are other consecration vows for laity, youth, and even small children. In the vows for children, little kids make an agreement to deliver their souls into this entity’s power so that she can make of them whatever she pleases.5
If the requests for consecration to the Immaculate Heart, Virgin of Fatima, and Queen of Heaven, are coming from God, then the request should be obeyed. But if the requests are coming from the vast number of fallen angels who have been impersonating the Blessed Mother, then it would not be prudent for Catholics to sell their souls into these entities’ possession and power. The questions that Catholics need to ask, “Are Father Gobbi’s messages coming from God? Or are they manifestations of a diabolical religious deception designed to ensnare Catholic souls?”
On September 18, 1988, the same entity that had made numerous requests for consecration, also delivered a number of other false prophesies including the following: “On this day, I am asking you to consecrate to me all the time that still separates you from the end of this century of yours. It is a period of ten years. These are ten very important years. These are ten decisive years.
“I am asking you to spend them with me because you are entering into the final period of the second Advent, which will lead you to the triumph of my Immaculate Heart in the glorious coming of my Son Jesus. In this period of ten years there will come to completion the time of the great tribulation, which has been foretold to you in Holy Scripture, before the second coming of Jesus.”6
This message was given in Lourdes, France, on September 18, 1988. Ten years later, would be September 18, 1998. The spiritual entity that had been delivering the messages to Father Gobbi predicted that the great tribulation, as recorded in Sacred Scripture, would occur within this ten-year period of time. Not only was the great tribulation prophesized within this ten-year period of time, but it was also predicted that Jesus would make his glorious return to gather the elect from the four corners of the earth.
Almost twenty years later, the world still has not come to an end. The great tribulation as recorded in the Book of Revelation has not occurred, and Jesus has not come back with his angles to gather the elect from the four corners of the earth as described in Mark 13:24–27.
Therefore, the messages that are being delivered to Father Gobbi cannot be coming from God, and the entity that has been delivering them cannot be the Blessed Mother. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church in section 215, “God is Truth itself, whose words cannot deceive.”7 If the messages are not coming from God, then Catholics should not be selling their souls into this entity’s possession and power.
